Enterprise Knowledge’s Urmi Majumder, Principal Architect and AI Consultant, and Fernando Aguilar Islas, Senior Solutions and AI Architecture Consultant, will be co-presenting a session titled “Context within Data Architecture: Why Meaning Becomes the Bottleneck for AI” at Data Architecture Online 2026 on Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 AM EST.
This session will define what “context” means for AI models, and describe the organizational bottlenecks created by modern transformer-based AI models having to reconstruct context and meaning on every call, as well as their impact on scaling complex AI workflows. The session will also cover how to address those bottlenecks with two specific capabilities: semantically-aware retrieval and effective memory and state management.
They will discuss topics such as:
- The organizational bottlenecks created by modern transformer-based AI models, and the capabilities needed to address them.
- How the semantic layer (taxonomy, ontology, knowledge graph, and business metadata) and context layer provide the foundation for these capabilities, respectively.
- Practical guidance on how the semantic layer anchors the context layer, and how to curate context across tiers in enterprise environments.
