Zach Wahl
President and Chief Executive Officer
Zach has over 20 years of experience leading programs in the knowledge and information management space. He has worked with more than 200 public and private organizations to successfully strategize, design, and implement information management systems, including knowledge bases, intranets, content management, document management, taxonomy management, and websites (eCommerce and informational). Zach has developed his own taxonomy design methodology, has authored a series of courses on knowledge management, and is a frequent speaker and trainer on information governance, web strategy, and taxonomy design. His experience includes projects for a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Department of Defense (DoD), and Department of Energy (DOE). He also has extensive experience in the private sector and internationally with institutions including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Nike, Marriott, Scottish Qualifications Authority, and UK Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
Zach has served on the board of the Washington DC Knowledge Management Institute and as the Chairman of the Institute for International Research (IIR) Enterprise Web, Portals, and Collaborative Technologies conference. He presently serves as the Chairman of the annual KM Showcase and as faculty for the Knowledge Management Institute, providing training and consulting on taxonomy design and development. Under his leadership, EK has consistently been recognized as a great place to work, most recently by Washington Business Journal, Inc. Magazine, and the Washingtonian.
Joe Hilger
Chief Operating Officer
Joe has over 20 years experience leading and implementing cutting edge, enterprise scale IT projects. He has worked with an array of commercial and public sector clients in a wide range of industries including financial services, healthcare, publishing, hotel and lodging, telecommunications, professional services, federal government, non-profit, and higher education. Joe uses Agile development techniques to help his customers bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation. He has a long track record of leading high-performance professional teams to deliver enterprise level solutions that provide real value. His development teams have a strong record of client satisfaction, innovation and leadership. Joe is an expert in implementing enterprise-scale content, search, and data analytics solutions. He consults on these areas with organizations across the country and has spoken on a wide range of topics including enterprise search, enterprise content management, big data analytics, agile development and content governance.
Matt McDonald
Chief Growth Officer
Matt leads EK’s strategy and business development, integrating his deep understanding of Public and Commercial Sector sales management with EK’s industry leading knowledge, data, and information management practices to deliver mission focused solutions.
With over 30 years of experience, Matt has sold and delivered a wide range of solutions including critical infrastructure data management, enterprise search, cloud migration, digital transformation, and cybersecurity for regulatory, healthcare, energy, and higher education, as well as throughout the Federal space. He specializes in nexus solutions that integrate capabilities to create new cutting-edge market solutions.
For over 15 years, Matt has led account management and business development in the federal civilian and defense sectors. Prior to joining EK, Matt served as Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at Data Systems Analysts, Inc. and has been responsible for business development and revenue growth at Project Performance Company, LLC, Hewlett-Packard, and Apogen Technologies, where he successfully achieved aggressive corporate growth, elevated market presence, and increased enterprise value.
Lulit Tesfaye
Partner and Vice President of Knowledge and Data Services
Lulit has over a decade of experience leading diverse global, public, and commercial client initiatives in Knowledge, Information, and Data Management strategy, design, and implementation. Her work focuses on facilitating executives and stakeholders to design, build, and launch successful programs and processes, starting from the development of vision and strategy, to leading the implementation of iterative delivery of cutting edge technology.
Lulit is driven by innovation in efficiency, user-centered design, and empowering businesses to smartly leverage their data and information assets along with the best today’s technologies have to offer. With a diverse project management background encompassing years of expertise in both Agile and traditional approaches, Lulit is adept at leading highly complex enterprise-wide knowledge and data transformation initiatives.
Lulit is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and sits on the Board of Directors for the PMI Washington DC Chapter, shaping Professional Development Programs within the industry. She is also a certified Agile consultant who holds the Scrum Master Professional (CSP), Certified Agile Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe-SPC 4 and IC-Agile certificates and continues to demonstrate agility daily. Lulit’s most recent thought leadership is focused on employing advanced capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ultimately deliver value for KM, data, and information management initiatives.
Rebecca Wyatt
Partner and Division Director, Technology Solutions
Rebecca has spent her career at the intersection of Learning, Knowledge Management, and Information Technology. With over twenty years of experience across the public, private, and non-profit sectors, Rebecca is an expert in project management and design, development, and implementation of Knowledge Management and Learning and Development (L&D) systems and educational content.
She has guided the strategy and development of L&D systems for a wide range of clients from international professional associations, to private industry, to the federal government. Her latest projects have focused on the design and development of technical systems which showcase the integration of a broad range of educational content including formal learning, spaced learning (microlearning), performance support, and social learning through communities of practice.
Rebecca is a frequent trainer and speaker on topics including KM strategy, content strategy, and L&D and is especially skilled at empowering and enabling high-performing teams to deliver products with outstanding business value and aligning the interests of business stakeholders and system users.
