EK’s Joe Hilger, Sara Nash, and Heather Hedden Speaking at Data Summit 2024

Enterprise Knowledge Chief Operating Officer Joe Hilger and Principal Consultant Sara Nash will co-present a workshop, and Senior Consultant Heather Hedden will present a conference session at the upcoming Data Summit in Boston, MA. The premiere data management and analytics conference will take place May 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency Boston, and will feature workshops, panel discussions, and provocative talks from industry leaders.

Hilger and Nash will be giving a new in-person half-day workshop titled “Building the Semantic Layer of Your Data Platform,” on Tuesday, May 7. Semantic layers stand out as a key approach to solving business problems for organizations grappling with the complexities of managing and understanding the meaning of their content and data. Join Hilger and Nash to learn what a semantic layer is, how it is implemented, and how it can be used to support your Enterprise AI, search, and governance initiatives. Participants will get hands-on experience building a key component of the semantic layer, knowledge graphs, and the foundational elements required to scale it within an enterprise.

Hedden will be presenting at Data Summit for the first time, giving a 45-minute talk “Enterprise Knowledge Graphs: The Importance of Semantics” on Thursday, May 9. A knowledge graph is a knowledge base that uses a graph database to integrate and link data in a form that is understood by both humans and machines. Hedden explores all the components of an enterprise knowledge graph and provides further insight into the semantic layer or knowledge model component, which includes an ontology and controlled vocabularies, such as taxonomies, for controlled metadata.
